Our Aims

At Busy Bees Pre-School, we are committed to: Fully embrace the guiding principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. Children learn and develop well in enabling environments. Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.

Being a community group. We are a long established, welcoming community of children, families, committee and staff. We also want to contribute to the wider community including schools, nurseries and childminders. We are professional, but not profit driven.

Prepare our children for transition to their Reception Year settings as confident, independent, happy learners who can continue to develop and progress to the Early Learning Goals and beyond.

Celebrate our differences and shared values. Diversity and inclusion are at the very heart of our group. Building respect without prejudice for all cultures, ethnicities and faith is fundamental and every child is valued for who they are, not what they can do.

Make full use of our rich variety of resources and equipment both inside and outdoors. Our children are not constrained by a restrictive timetable and they are encouraged to be creative, curious and confident to explore and investigate.

Our experienced and professional staff, who ensure that the experience of each child is positive, safe and stimulating. We are caring and nurturing, while encouraging independence.

Have fun!

Child protection

We, at Busy Bees Pre-school, are committed to providing an environment the every child can enjoy the right to live their life free from fear, harm or abuse and from potential harm or abuse. We are committed to the strengthening and support of families as being in the best interest of children.

At all times staff will remember that child protection is a matter that needs to be dealt with sensitively and in confidence. As a condition of employment, all staff who work at Busy Bees Pre-school are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. Visitors, volunteers (eg rota helpers) and students will not be left alone with the children. To safeguard staff from potential allegations of abuse they, too, will not be left alone with the children. Only the mobile phone and camera owned by Busy Bees may be used during the childrens’ sessions. Mobiles and cameras belonging to staff and visitors may not be used and should be stored securely with other personal possessions. We will use the Bristol Safeguarding Children’s Board (BSCB) and Bristol Children and Young Peoples Services (CYPS) Procedures and Guidance to further support us in the operation of our child protection policy.

This is so that children are kept safe.
